Organize or host a special event

Edmonton’s Food Bank appreciates the support it receives from countless schools, churches, community groups and businesses through special events and food drives. More than 900 events benefit Edmonton’s Food Bank each year. Some of them are events hosted by the Food Bank such as the Edmonton Heritage Festival, Hip Hop For Hunger, Stuff-a-Bus, Hike for Plenty, Singing for Supper, the Examiner Auction, Food for All Seasons Gala, and the Tackle Hunger Football Game.

The majority of events, however, are held by people in the community. These events include birthday parties, Christmas parties, barbecues and office parties. All of these events are invaluable to Edmonton’s Food Bank.

How you can help:

• Host a casual day at the office
  * Recycle pop cans, with proceeds to the food bank
  * Have a food drive in your church, building, or business
  * Charge “food” admission instead of buying a gift or for entry into a draw
